The Ithaca Brass and the Ithaca Wind Quintet will combine for a free concert at Ithaca College on Monday, March 29.

The performance will begin at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center. The program will feature works by Calvert, Barber, and Orban.

The Ithaca Wind Quintet is composed of flutist Claudia Anderson, oboist Paige Morgan, clarinetist Michael Galván, bassoonist Paul Hanson, and horn player Alex Shuhan. Founded in 1963, the quintet performs concerts and gives master classes at conventions, universities, and high schools throughout the Northeast. The group has premiered the works of many composers including Dana Wilson and Karel Husa, a former faculty member and Pulitzer-Prize winning composer.

Members of Ithaca Brass are horn player Alex Shuhan, trumpeters Kim Dunnick and Frank Campos, trombonist Harold Reynolds, and tuba player David Unland. The group was established in 1966 and has performed at regional, state, and national conferences of educators and professional music organizations throughout the United States. The ensemble has commissioned several works, including compositions from Chuck Mangione and Malcolm Lewis.
