"From the Street: Public Conversations with Private Architecture" will explore how American cities acquired their distinctive visual and material character. 

The lecture will be presented by Dr. Jeffrey A. Cohen, senior lecturer, Bryn Mawr College, to launch the Department of Art History's new Architectural Studies major. 

Exhibition opening, "The Rise of a Landmark: Lewis Hine and the Empire State Building," and reception to follow.
