Hill Center Reopens

Contributed by David Maley on 08/31/12

Hill Center on campus has reopened as of 12:15 p.m. on Friday, August 31st. Classes will resume with the 1:00 p.m. class hour.

Because of a natural gas odor in the building, Hill Center was closed as of 9:30 a.m. Ithaca College Public Safety, Ithaca Fire Department, and New York State Electric and Gas crews responded to evacuate the building and identify the source of the problem, which was determined to be caused by a broken fan belt in the building ventilation system.

No one became ill, and there was no danger to the campus community.

Again, Hill Center is safe to reoccupy and classes will resume at 1:00 p.m.
