Have you noticed a proliferance of small murals popping up around Ithaca?

Ithaca College community members Mara Baldwin (Handwerker Gallery, Acting Director) and Rob Licht (Handwerker Gallery, Preparator) are two of 21 artists selected for the Ithaca Public Arts Commission project 21 Boxes.  An open-call was made in April seeking proposals from artists for small murals to decorate the external facades of city electrical boxes.  Artists were selected by a juried committee and awarded small grants for materials and their time.  The Public Arts Commission has announced that maps will be available during the First Friday walk in October revealing the locations of all 21 boxes included in the project.  In the mean time, if you're interested in more information about this project or how to become involved with the Public Arts Commission, visit their website to learn more!
