 Presentation by Dana Brown, Executive Director of the US Office on Colombia, a human rights advocacy organization based in Washington, DC. 

Brown’s talk with address the many facets of the current peace negotiations between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrilla, with a special focus on civil society engagement in the peace process. She will highlight the struggle of victims’ to secure some measure of truth, justice and reparations in this process, and the possibilities for a parallel peace process with the ELN. Lastly, she will expose critical issues excluded from the negotiating agenda that could have grave implications for the prospects of a lasting peace.


 Dana Brown is a former Coordinator of the Committee on US/Latin American Relations, an Amnesty International USA Colombia Country Specialist and an accompanier with Peace Brigades International in Colombia. She holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Cornell University and a Masters in International Relations and Peace Studies from the Universidad del Salvador in Argentina.
