March Work/Life Line: Men's Health

Whether it applies to you directly or you’re interested in helping the men in your life, men’s health is an important topic for everyone to be knowledgeable about. There are a variety of wellness concerns that apply to men, especially as age increases. 

Use the following tips to help yourself and your loved ones keep up on important men’s health issues:

  • Include weight training in your exercise routine. While cardiovascular activity is very important, using weight training as well will give optimal health benefits. Find a personal trainer, ask a knowledgeable friend, or join a gym that offers assistance in learning how to lift properly.
  • Drink alcohol in moderation. While a few drinks per week can help decrease the risk of heart disease, drinking too much is devastating to your health.
  • Maintain your relationships. Make sure that you’re setting aside enough time to keep close ties with family and friends. Strong ties with other people reduce stress and help enhance overall good health.
