Not sure what to do for class on Tuesday, April 2? Let the Whalen Symposium be your classroom!

Encourage your students to attend the Symposium and complete an assignment on what they have learned.

Please follow the link for an example of a class assignment used by Professor Sean Eversley Bradwell:

Come and hear Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of CSCRE, Dr. Belisa Gonzalez, with April Carroll, Class of '19, School of Communications, talk about their work and experience with her presentation titled: "Black Girl Black Girl What is Your Song" on Tuesday, April 2, at 11:10 AM in Emerson C, Campus Center.

Have your students support their classmates, fellow students, and colleagues.  Have them come and see 390+ students present their work, and over 75 student poster presentations by attending from 8:50 AM – 4:00 PM in the Campus Center.  The noon-hour session will feature finalist presentations for the Whalen Symposium Awards.  There will also be a closing session, featuring the awards ceremony in Emerson C which will begin at 4:00 pm.

To view the complete schedule, go to the Whalen Symposium website or visit the Library Digital Commons.

The Whalen Symposium Steering Committee encourages students who have qualifying disabilities to contact Kimberly Wilkinson or Nathan Prestopnik, Co-Chairs of the Committee at or at least one week in advance of any Information Session or other pre-Whalen event to ensure timely arrangements can be made for any necessary accommodations.

For accommodations at the Symposium itself, please make contact at least two weeks in advance to ensure necessary accommodations can be made.
