Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is pleased to announce a new service that will be available beginning August 19, 2019, the CAPS After-hours On-call Counselor. This service will be available by phone anytime CAPS is closed: Monday through Friday 5:00 pm – 8:30 am, and 24 hours/day on weekends, holidays, and during campus closures. Faculty, staff, and family members can also use this service if they have concerns about an IC student and are seeking guidance.
The After-hours On-call Counselor can be reached by dialing the CAPS main phone number (607-274-3136) and following the prompt to connect with a counselor immediately.
CAPS is partnering with a company, ProtoCall, to offer this service. The counselors at ProtoCall have been given detailed information about Ithaca College’s resources and they will make referrals as appropriate. CAPS will receive daily reports of calls taken by the After-hours On-call Counselor and may reach out to callers, as needed, the next business day to offer additional support. All call reports are maintained as confidential records at CAPS.
