Senior students from the school of Health Sciences and Human Performance are looking for current full time students who have had a concussion to help them in a research study on how exercise impacts cognition in college students.

This study involves 2 sessions within a 5-day period in the Ithaca College Exercise Physiology Lab. The first session will involve a survey gathering basic information and a practice session to familiarize you with the online cognitive tests. For the second session, you will perform the cognitive testing, exercise moderately on a treadmill for under 30 minutes, then repeat cognitive testing. Total participation will not exceed 1 hour 45 minutes. The study will run from April 15th, 2013 through April 26th, 2013.

In order to participate you must be over 18 years of age, have had at least one concussion (not within the past 6 months), be able to perform 30 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise, have normal color vision, and be comfortable reading information from computer screens. You may not participate if you have had any musculoskeletal or concussive injury within the past six months, or are currently experiencing illness that will interfere with your ability to perform moderate intensity exercise.

If interested, please contact Keely Sawyer at Dr. Miranda Kaye is the faculty advisor for this study and can be reached at
