Tuesday October 30, 12:10 pm – 1:10 pm

VIP Room, A&E Center

Submitted on behalf of Dr. Rosanna Ferro and Dr. Roger Richardson:

Please join in for an opportunity to dialogue about ways LGBTQ members of the IC community can find welcome and safety within the new Office of Religious and Spiritual Life. Hierald Osorto, Director of Religious and Spiritual Life and Luca Maurer, Director of LGBTQ Education, Outreach & Services will discuss steps being taken to deepen welcome for LGBTQ members of our campus community. Luca and Lis Chabot will co-facilitate the forum, inviting participants to share ideas to move forward. Our discussion will be rooted in supporting each other and additional work we can do toward inclusion and welcome that recognizes our common humanity and confers dignity and respect upon each individual. Refreshments will be provided.

In addition to this Open Forum, Hierald will also be hosting three closed, hour-long listening sessions for LGBTQ students after fall break. He invites you to join him to share what it’s like to be an LGBTQ person of faith at IC and how the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life can support LGBTQ students. These sessions will be held on:

·    Monday, October 22, 12-1pm

·    Monday, October 29, 12-1pm

·    Tuesday, October 30, 5-6pm

Please reserve your space and tell Hierald about your dietary needs using this form. Location to be determined, space will be limited.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Luca Maurer at lmaurer@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-7394. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
