Are you a female or woman identified student in your sophomore year? Consider applying to be a part of the BOLD Women's Leadership Network at IC!

I am pleased to announce that Ithaca College has received an additional grant from the Pussycat Foundation that will allow us to select TWO additional cohorts of BOLD Scholars! The BOLD Program is an innovative women’s leadership initiative with the theme of: Intergenerational Mentoring, Identity, and Social Change.  BOLD scholars are awarded a two-year scholarship of up to $27,500 per year and those selected will become part of a cohort of about 7-9 students.  I invite you to review the details on the IC BOLD website at https://www.ithaca.edu/bold/ carefully and read the information below. If interested in applying to become a BOLD Scholar please complete the information as outlined.  We are very excited to offer this amazing leadership and career networking opportunity to our current sophomore women that will be juniors in the fall.

If you have questions I look forward to speaking with you at one of the information sessions (not required, but encouraged): Tuesday, February 11th, or Thursday, February 20th, both from 12:10pm-12:50pm in Friends 210.

BOLD Scholars

If you are interested in applying for the BOLD Scholarship for the 2020-2022 academic years, please do so by Friday, February 28th at 11:59pm. The application can be found here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/IthacaCollege21/ithacacollegeboldwomensleadershipnetworkapplication

A complete application consists of this application form submitted, the recommendation form completed by a current IC faculty or staff member, a PDF copy of your unofficial transcript and a JPEG or PNG photo of you sent to bold@ithaca.edu.  The criteria candidates must meet to be considered for the BOLD scholarship are:

  • Class of 2022 - planning to graduate in May, summer, or December of 2022
  • Students who identify as women or female
  • Full-time enrollment with good academic standing (applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Applicants with a cumulative GPA between 2.2 and 2.5 will be considered on a case-by-case basis after review by a selection committee).
  • Due to the nature of the cohort model, scholars may NOT study abroad or study away during their time in the BOLD Program
  • Exceptional leadership abilities including strong critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in groups and capacity to facilitate challenging discourse
  • BOLD Scholars are not required to reside on campus for the duration of the program
  • The scholarship is need based – please contact financial aid if you have questions about your eligibility based on financial need

Please be sure to ask a faculty or staff member to complete the recommendation form on your behalf, which can be found here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/IthacaCollege21/ithacacollegeboldwomensleadershipnetworkrecommendationform

Students will be selected via a two-stage process. The first is a group interview, where a group of finalists will be selected to participate in an individual interview. From the pool of all applicants, the final cohort of about 7-9 women from Ithaca College will be selected by early April.

Email your application materials to bold@ithaca.edu by Friday, February 28th at 11:59pm.

Any questions or request for accommodations may also be emailed to bold@ithaca.edu.
