This winter session, a seminar in Qualitative Research Methods will be offered for graduate students. If you would like to work on a research idea or thesis project that uses mixed or qualitative methods or are interested in learning more about qualitative research methods, then this course is for you. The Computer Science Department has opened a new section of COMP 105 Introduction to Website Development.  This section meets MWF 2:00-2:50 pm.  (ICC) - Creative Arts Theme:World of Systems.  CRN:  43497.

In an effort to further plan and prepare our support of IC students’ and alumnx’s career development, our office will have limited hours and services available on Friday, December 15th and Wednesday, December 20th.

The Office of Career Services will be offering drop-in services as usual Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during finals week with the assistance of our Peer Career Advisors. Thank you in advance for your support of our continued efforts to enhance our work.

Special Topics in Sports Journalism will be offered online during Winter Session, and is an excellent way to learn about reporting game stories, writing columns and reviews, and announcing for radio and television sports. Continuing this year, the Center for Faculty Excellence is offering an excellence institute in inclusive course design. The Early Career Excellence Institute (ECEI) is a yearlong opportunity. Participants work in faculty learning communities to problem solve, design, and reflect on significant and equitable course changes. This is a chance for faculty across campus to build substantive interdisciplinary relationships across campus regarding pedagogical intention and access in student learning.

 The Center for Faculty Excellence is pleased to announce a call for proposals for its Faculty-in-Residence program in the academic year, 2018-2019.  The program will bring together up to 6 faculty members who have proposed a program of study, reflection, planning, and action related to some aspect of faculty excellence and development.  Successful proposals will link faculty interests to Ithaca College initiatives and must have a potential impact beyond the faculty member’s own discipline or department.   Proposals are especially welcome that address leadership development, contemplative pedagogy, cultural fluency, mentoring, inclusion and equity, advocacy, and development of pedagogical strategies related to quantitative literacy and writing.
