Duo Multi-Factor Authentication

To protect your information and to enhance the security of Ithaca College information systems and services, the college has adopted multi-factor authentication from Duo Security. Logging into certain Ithaca College systems now requires verification (usually by approving a prompt on your smart phone) that the person logging in with your username and password is actually you. This significantly helps protect against common kinds of attacks.

How to enroll and set up your device

Enrolling takes only a few minutes, and the IT Knowledge Base has a Duo MFA Self-Enrollment Guide that will walk you through the process. If you're already familiar with Duo and just need to update your phone number or register a new devices, you can go directly to the Duo Device Registration portal.

Systems and services using Duo

Currently Duo two-factor authentication is required for:

  • Remote access via the college's virtual private network (VPN)
  • Bomgar (remote desktop tool).
  • Snaplogic (IT integration tool).
  • Access to Office 365.
