Another academic year at IC is winding down and the Class of 2011 will be joining the alumni ranks in less than a week. As late spring settles in, we wanted to let everyone know that, since our previous post, we are still actively analyzing the mascot survey data and listening to the online chatter. We received nearly 10,000 survey responses, and our Office of Institutional Research is diligently combing through that impressive amount of feedback. Due to the fact that we received such a high volume of response to the survey, the process of reading and analyzing the survey data and comments may take longer than we initially forecasted. The open-ended questions allowed respondents to go into greater detail with their opinions and suggestions and that qualitative information is of infinite value to us as we move forward.

Once that important work is done, the Mascot Selection Task Force will be able to draw a consensus as to the strongest feelings behind the three possible mascots, and the mascot search in general. This will help us chart the way forward.

We love the Bomber pride on display and respect how passionately some feel regarding this mascot search. We will continue to listen to the thoughtful suggestions and comments we receive, though our primary focus is with the responses that came through the official survey mechanism. Please be assured, we’re hard at work behind the scenes and we'll update you when we have more information to share.

What will the committee do if the "None of the above" comments such as my own are statistically significant?

Thanks for the update. What will the process be if the overwhelming response is Save the Bomber, keep what we've got?
You mentioned the fact that you are listening to the on-line chatter. I'd like to direct you, your team and anyone who is Bomber Proud to visit:!/home.php?sk=group_193743253996768

Lot's of good, positive discussion on the topic. Let's hope the Administration listens.
...Class of 2011, watch this debate closely. You will be the newest alumni, let's hope you're not ignored!

It's ok to admit that we were fine all along with the current Bomber mascot. The fact that the costume or mask was recently "misplaced" gives a nice opportunity for a reconfiguring of the costume instead of a wildly unpopular replacement of it.

@Save the Bomber: Great video! This is an excellent alternative to the three finalists that were presented to us. I would vote for this Bomber mascot over the others without question.

I just watched the video that the Ithacan put together called Mascot Reaction. It is people on the Mascot Task Force like Rob Engelsman (sp?) that just don't get it! Rob, you are 21 (maybe 22), you went to Ithaca college for all of 4 years. Do you really think that this "fun idea" should negate over 120 years of tradition?! 100 years of Ithaca tradition happened before you were even born! It must be a generational thing (something Ithaca College promotes).... Everyone's idea is special, everyone wins, everyone gets a trophy... Graduation is over, welcome to the real world son. It's wake up time.

The fact that seems to be evading the Administration and the Mascot Task Force at this point is that...

There was no way to select "none of the above" or "no change required." Thus the surveys are biased towards accepting one of the three "finalists." I've spoken with one of my old Ithaca College Marketing Professors, someone who is still an active faculty member about the mascot search. He is furious about the process. He is embarrassed that the college would put out such a flawed marketing survey. He is furious that the college is trying to implement change on such a flawed process. is a massively multiplayer browser game developed by Steve Howse in 2016.[1] Players control a snake-like avatar, which consumes multicolored pellets in the game to grow in size; the objective of the game is to grow the longest snake in the server. is similar in concept to the popular 2015 web game and is reminiscent of the classic arcade game Snake.[2] The game grew in popularity following its promotion among several prominent YouTube users such as Pewdiepie.[3] A mobile version of the game for Android was released on March 27, 2016,[4] and topped the App Store shortly after its release.[5]

We are always interested in the "neglect" of us. But we are "abandoning" who cares about us ... "Friv 2" "Unblocked Games" "Yepi 2"
