How to Apply

Who Is Eligible?

The MLK Scholar Program is open to academically first-year applicants from ethnic and racial backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in U.S. higher education. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to qualify for the program.

Follow these steps to apply to the MLK Scholar Program:

1. Apply to Ithaca College via the Common Application. Auditions and interviews, which are required for majors in the School of Music and Department of Theatre Arts, must also be completed.

2. Complete the MLK Scholar Program application. The MLK Scholar Program application must be completed by January 15. (Please note that you will not be able to access the application until you have submitted your application for admission to Ithaca College.)

3. Watch your email. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be invited to an interview with us and participate in related programming on campus in late March.
