Brought together by their mutual love for chamber music, the Ithaca String Quartet (formerly Ariadne String Quartet) was formed in 1994 by members of the string faculty at the Ithaca College School of Music. In their inaugural year they performed in New York City’s Alice Tully Hall in commemoration of the One Hundredth Anniversary of Ithaca College. They perform regularly at Ithaca College as well as on recital series throughout the region. Violinists Susan Waterbury and Nicholas DiEugenio, violist Debra Moree, and cellist Elizabeth Simkin bring to the ensemble a broad and diverse background in chamber music that has taken them around the globe and back.

Dedicated and experienced teachers as well, the members of the Ithaca String Quartet support and nurture large individual teaching studios and together they team teach a thriving Quartet Seminar for six student string quartets.
