Hi All!
Are you interested in the environment?
Do you want to learn more about what it means to be sustainable?
Do you like hiking?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then this is the excursion for you!
On the last day of the conference, put on your hiking boots (or rain boots - it is Ithaca!) and get ready to tour Ithaca and see why it really is "gorges." This excursion will be a bus tour around Ithaca with a few stops at the "hot spots" that focus on the environment and sustainability. The itinerary is as follows:
1. Take a stop at Ithaca Falls, one of Ithaca's many gorges.
2. Take a drive around Cayuga Lake and take a pit stop in Aurora, NY - the site of Wells College and the Cayuga Indian Settlement.
3. Check out the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge and take a look at the osprey, eagles, and migrating water fowl.
4. Time to take a guided hike at Taughannock Falls - the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi.
5. Stop and get a bit to eat at The EvoVillage - a sustainable community in Ithaca!
Think about it. I think it's the best excursion we are offering. Plus, what you learn about sustainability you can bring back to your campus and make a large difference in our world.
Until Next Time,
