What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
Being a First-Generation College Graduate is a special honor to not only me but to my whole family. My family since I was young wanted me to be able to do what I wanted to in whatever career field I want. When I got older, that meant going to a four-year college to get my Bachelor's degree. My family did everything they could to get me to accomplish this goal so I could go on to accomplish my dreams.
What is your proudest moment from your time at Ithaca College?
My proudest is actually graduating with my Bachelor's Degree on time while also getting the chance to study abroad in London.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
My parents and grandparents have been the most influential throughout my journey. I wanted to get my Bachelor's degree not only for myself but also to make them proud since they have wanted me to get it so I can do more than they could have. I just want to thank them for helping me through the rough times when I was stressed but also for being the first ones to cheer me on when I got a good grade or accomplished something throughout the years.
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
My mentor that has been so helpful through my years is Catrina VanAtta. She not only was my boss but a friend that gave me great advice and a shoulder to cry on. I want to thank her for everything that she has done for me throughout my four years at IC. She made me feel like I belonged there.
What do you plan or hope to do now that you have graduated?
I plan to land an entry-level job in Digital Marketing to then climb the corporate ladder to one day be a manger.
Are there any Clubs, Activities, or Involvements that you were a part of at Ithaca College?
I was involved in Students Today Alumni Tomorrow, Senior Class Gift Committee, American Marketing Association, Dean's Host, and had two jobs as a Student Services Team Member and a Professions Program Student Coordinator.
