Julie Dorsey

An expert in occupational therapy and ergonomics, Dorsey specializes in adult and geriatric rehabilitation and can discuss ergonomics, accessibility, environmental design, and the relationship between occupational therapy and sustainability. She is a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS).

Dorsey has worked in a variety of settings, including hospital, outpatient, community based, and long term care facilities.

Professional affiliations include the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) (chair of the Work and Industry Special Interest section, term beginning July 2014), International Ergonomics Association, and Upstate New York Chapter of the US Green Building Council, Green Schools Committee. Dorsey serves as a consultant with Empowerment by Design, providing research and development services for the Ithaca firm that performs office, lab, and industrial ergonomics evaluations for employees of local companies. She has worked with facilities to provide training modules focusing on injury prevention in the workplace.
