Ithaca, NY--Last fall, after Ithaca College had successfully met its $10.5 million goal in the capital campaign for the James J. Whalen Center for Music, the Park Foundation announced a challenge to help raise additional funds for the project. The College successfully met the challenge by raising $250,000 by December 31, 1998, and will receive a $750,000 award from the Park Foundation. ...

Ithaca, NY--Malcolm X and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. were contemporaries fighting for the same cause, yet they never met. That will change, in a way, in a presentation at Ithaca College on Thursday, January 21. "The Meeting," a fictional account of a meeting between the two, will be staged at 7:00 p.m. in the Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. The play is free and open to the public.

Ithaca, NY--Mixed media works by Ithaca-based artist David Estes will be on display beginning this month at Ithaca College's Handwerker Gallery of Art. "Studies in History" will feature a variety of images created with materials ranging from graphite and pigments to spray paint and grass stains.
