Film Screening at Ithaca College Focuses on Bridging Generational Gaps

ITHACA, NY— “Cyber-Seniors,” a documentary about how generational gaps are bridged by the Internet, will be shown at Ithaca College on Wednesday, Sept. 17.  Free and open to the public, the screening will take place at 7 p.m. in Textor 102.

“Cyber-Seniors” chronicles the journey of six senior citizens guided by teenage mentors as they learn how to use the Internet. The film offers candid insight into the challenges and victories the seniors face as they dive into the digital world.

Created by two sisters for a high school project, the Cyber-Seniors mentoring program provides Internet training to interested senior citizens.  Program volunteers and training manuals help seniors get on Facebook, play online games and use e-mail.

The screening is sponsored by the Gerontology Institute and Department of Occupational Therapy.
