Ithaca College's Family Carnival Will Benefit Local Big Brothers Big Sisters Program

Ithaca, NY--The public is invited to attend "Little Moments, Big Magic," Ithaca College's fourth annual family carnival, on Friday, February 24. Held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Fitness Center, the event's proceeds will benefit One-to-One Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ithaca and Tompkins County.

Admission prices are:
  • Adults-$4.00
  • Children and students-$3.00
  • Family of five-$15

"This year's event marks the second year the College has partnered with the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program," says Deborah Mohlenhoff, coordinator of community service and leadership. "We created a strong partnership with last year's event and wanted to strengthen it. The College's continuing collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters reflects the fact that several students and staff members participate in the local program."

Bobby K Entertainment of Elmira will provide much of the fun, including a Sponge Bob Square Pants Moonbounce, a giant slide, and an inflatable obstacle course. Student groups and organizations will also make their presence felt by offering face painting, minigolf, and other activities. In addition, the Ithaca College Circus and Hip Hop Clubs will perform.

As they did last year, employees from Best Buy will be on hand to take and print, free of charge, digital photos of the carnival goers. New this year will be a craft table hosted by Home Depot that will feature various free construction projects.

Those carnival goers who feel particularly lucky can take part in a raffle for books as well as prizes related to St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and other themes. Tickets will sell for $1.00 each or six for $5.00.
