New York Women in Communications Foundation Awards Scholarships to Ithaca College Students

ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College students Katelyn Gualtieri ’16, a communication management and design major, and Nicole Godreau ’16, an integrated marketing communications major, have been selected as New York Women in Communications Foundation scholarship recipients.

The  scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, need and a demonstrated commitment to the field of communications.  Qualified students must be U.S. citizens who are permanent residents of N.Y., N.J., Conn. or Pa., and major in communications-related field at an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Gualtieri and Godreau will be joined by the other scholarship recipients on Monday, April 28, for the Matrix Awards in New York City at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. This year's Matrix Awards will be hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, co-hosts of the fourth hour of NBC’s TODAY, and include a presentation honoring seven outstanding women in the communications industry. Scholarship recipients will also have the opportunity to make an appearance on the TODAY show the morning of the awards.

Gualtieri currently is a student leadership consultant and participates in IC Courage, IC AfterDark and Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT). Godreau is a member of the American Advertising Federation Club and the African-Latino Society.
