U.S. News & World Report Again Names Ithaca One of America's Best Colleges

ITHACA, NY — Ithaca College has once again been ranked among the best colleges and universities of its kind by U.S. News & World Report. In the magazine’s just-released rankings, IC is listed in the #10 spot in the North.

This is the 18th straight year that Ithaca College has been placed in the top 15 in U.S. News & World Reports’ annual “Best Colleges” issue. The rankings are based on peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.

Ithaca College President Tom Rochon noted that this is just the latest publication to give the college high marks. “That Ithaca has been consistently ranked across a wide range of college guidebooks speaks highly of our reputation — borne out by objective data — for providing a quality educational experience for our students,” said Rochon.

U.S. News & World Report lists Ithaca College in the “best regional universities” category, which includes institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s degree programs but few, if any, doctoral programs. The 625 institutions in this category are not ranked nationally but rather against their peer group in one of four geographic regions — North, South, Midwest and West.
