Saturday, 3/7/2026 1:00pm | Hockett Family Recital Hall Faculty Recital: Richard Faria, clarinet Free, open to the public Click "Register" to reserve your FREE tickets. Featuring: Richard Faria, clarinet Luis Gallo Quintero, oboe Grace Gonoud, bass clarinet Jakes Baker, baritone saxophone Lauren Bradbury, baritone saxophone Ryan Reilly, piano This program brings together music in which the clarinet acts as a human voice—at times lyrical and grounded, at others urgent, playful, or searching. Spanning more than a century, the works reflect composers responding to place, tradition, technology, and moments of connection both found and missed. Several pieces have personal ties to Ithaca: I worked with Chris Stark during his student years at Cornell; Nicolas Chuaqui is a colleague at Ithaca College; and Zachary McDonald is a familiar presence in Ithaca’s musical community. Alongside music by Béla Bartók, Arthur Bliss, and Tristan Perich, the program traces a shared thread of listening and expressive voice across time and place.
