Dear campus community,

I am thrilled to share with you the wonderful news that Ithaca College has been reaccredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

As you remember, we had a positive visit in February from a small team from the commission, which affirmed a number of elements of our self-study and recognized many of our institution’s strengths, including our commitment to affordability, diversity, and sustainability; our commitment to free expression; our approach to facilities planning; and our inclusive board structure.

This visit came after a thorough and productive Middle States Reaccreditation Self-Study Process, led by co-chairs Luke Keller, Dana Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and Bonnie Prunty, Dean of Students. I’d like to offer my deepest thanks to Bonnie and Luke for their tremendous leadership, to the members of the self-study committees and working groups for their thoughtful work, and to the members of our campus community who participated in the self-study process and the on-site visits with the Middle States team.

I invite you to read the college’s coverage of our reaccreditation, and I thank you for all you do to strengthen our institution. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.

All my best,

Shirley M. Collado
President
