William Guerrero joins IC's Senior Leadership Team.

Dear campus community members,

I am pleased to announce that William Guerrero has accepted my offer to join Ithaca College as our next Vice President for Finance and Administration. Bill will begin his new position here on July 16.

Bill has spent the majority of his career at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Purchase, where he served as executive director of the Purchase College Association, an auxiliary service corporation charged with supporting the academic mission of the university.

Bill brings his tremendous experience to our institution, where he will be an important collaborative partner to our senior leadership team, our board of trustees, and our campus community. I am excited to work alongside him as we advance our primary objectives of supporting student success and keeping the IC experience accessible and affordable. His creativity and deep experience in developing and launching innovative programs that optimize institutional resources will be critical to our ability to help ensure a successful and stable financial future for the college.

I invite you to read the college’s news story, which discusses in more detail Bill’s lengthy record of achievement in directing and improving financial performance in higher education and independent schools.

I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the search committee and to its chair, School of Business Dean Sean Reid, for their thorough and thoughtful work in bringing this search to a successful conclusion. I am grateful as well to the many members of the campus community who participated in the interview process through open sessions and other meetings with each of our three finalists. Their feedback was incredibly helpful.

I also want to acknowledge and offer my sincere appreciation to Janet Williams for her dedicated service as interim Vice President for Finance and Administration over the past two years, particularly for her tremendous effort in helping shepherd the development and completion of the college budget.

I hope you will join me in welcoming Bill and his wife, Maggie, to the Ithaca community. Their son, Austin, is already a member of the IC community—he is just completing his freshman year as an Integrated Marketing Communications major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

All my best,

Shirley M. Collado
