Park in Beijing

NBC Sports once again recruited students from the Park School of Communications to take part in its Olympics intern program.

These nonpaid internships focus on the "behind-the-scenes" work of NBC Sports executives and the decisions they make that impact all aspects of what gets televised. Students will live in the international media village for six to eight weeks, and potentially could work in one of the following areas:

  • accommodations
  • audio
  • executive offices
  • information technology
  • press
  • research
  • production support
  • sports venues
  • runner pool

During the fall semester, students filled out a two-page application and then participated in on-campus interviews with NBC personnel. Just before winter break, the network notified students of the decision. Nearly 150 students applied and more than 85 were interviewed before the final 11 for Beijing were chosen. In addition to the students going to China, 12 other Park students will intern at NBC headquarters in New York City.

For the 2006 Winter Games, 13 Park students interned with NBC in Torino, Italy.
