Take Back the Tap is committed to illuminating the challenges that the bottled water industry poses for sustainability. We oppose the subsequent erosion in citizens’ faith in municipal water supplies that results from the reliance upon bottled water. Therefore, we focus on continuing dialogue to reconsider the sale of bottled water at Ithaca College, as a part of the university’s commitment to sustainability. In addition, we support the increased availability of tap water on campus, and ultimately, call for a ban in the sale of bottled water at Ithaca College.
Take Back the Tap plans awareness events (such as film screenings and water taste tests) and works with student leaders and administrators to decrease plastic water bottle consumption on campus. Check out our previous events.
Take Back the Tap meets on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm in the Demotte Room. New members are always welcome.
Take Back the Tap is a national Food and Water Watch campaign to end privatization of water and to encourage citizens to utilize their municipal sources of water. IC Take Back the Tap is working in conjunction with this national campaign.
