Family and Supporter Virtual Orientation Schedule

This schedule provides an overview of the informational sessions designed to familiarize students' families and supporters with Ithaca College and provide you with the tools to help aid in your students' transition to IC.

Please register by August 5 at midnight EST to obtain Zoom links for our live sessions. We unfortunately cannot honor registration requests after midnight on August 5. 

There is no cost for our Family and Supporter Orientation program - please register for as many sessions as you would like.  About 24 hours prior to our program you will receive a personalized schedule from 'NSTP@ithaca.edu' including the links to your registered sessions.

Virtual Family Orientation

This session is for families/supporters, and their students. Dean Linda Petrosino and Associate Deans Christina Moylan and John Sigg will provide a welcome and broad introduction to the School of HSHP. In addition, we will introduce the Chairs of the six departments within our School plus the Coordinator of our Preprofessional Program. This session will address commonly asked questions and also provide an opportunity for additional questions from participants. Please note that this is not an appropriate forum for individualized questions about a particular student.

Campus Safety Amid Covid-19 | 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Extensive membership of the Return to Campus Taskforce will be available to you to discuss your student's on-campus safety amid COVID-19 and answer many of your frequently asked questions.

Residence Life & Student Conduct and Community Standards
Welcome to the IC Community! Learn more about the Residential Life Office including housing selection, residence hall and apartment amenities and services, and how students can get involved in their “home away from home!" We will also provide an introduction to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, and will have time to answer any of your questions about fall move in and living on campus.

Health and Wellness Panel
Join the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Center for Health Promotion, and the Hammond Health Center to learn about how Ithaca College is prepared to support the health and well being of students during their first-year at Ithaca College.

Title IX / SHARE (Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education)
Learn about Ithaca colleges response to sexual harassment. We will talk about the the options and resources available for all students involved in making a report or responding to an allegation.

Center for Academic Advancement
This presentation will go over the academic support services offered by the Center for Academic Advancement (CAA). You will learn about the shared model of advising between Faculty and Professional Academic Advisors, Tutoring Services offered by our Peer Learning Coaches, and how to go about requesting accommodations from Student Accessibility Services.

Office of Public Safety
During this session, family and guests will have an opportunity to meet members of Public Safety at Ithaca College. Our department is comprised of four main areas and we will provide an overview of each: Patrol & Security, Environmental Health & Safety, Parking Services, and the Student Auxiliary Safety Patrol. We will share with you our passion for building bridges, community connection, and a genuine belief in fostering positive relationships through providing awareness programming, prevention education, and support services to our campus community and beyond.

Race & Social Change: The Center for IDEAS will discuss their goals and learning opportunities for students that center conversations about race, racism, and change.

Office of International Programs
The Office of International Programs will offer an introduction to the study abroad opportunities available to Ithaca College students, as well as information about how students can best plan to integrate an international experience into their time at the College. We will also discuss the ways in which our office supports international students at Ithaca College.
