Favorite memory from Orientation:
My college did a campus life skit that was almost entirely student run. Student leaders would take popular songs and transform them to relate to concepts covered during orientation. I loved how creative the orientation leaders were with it while also making sure important information was presented in a memorable way. I still remember their rendition of the Backstreet Boys' I Want It That Way to learn about consent.

One piece of advice you have for incoming students:
You can do anything, but you can't do everything. Without a doubt, college is a time to explore. I encourage students to try lots of new things and get out of their comfort zone. By the time the semester starts to really pick up though, I think it's important to prioritize which extracurriculars are most important to you so that you have a healthy balance between life in and outside of the classroom.

One thing you are looking forward to most this summer:
I am so excited to get to know all the student leaders and also provide them support throughout the summer to further their own personal development. The Orientation Staff have such a pivotal role in bringing the fun and engagement to orientation and I can't wait to see how they approach Orientation at Ithaca College.
