All new first-year students must complete the Academic Interests Survey, math placement exam, and any applicable language placement exams by June 15 for priority placement in classes of your interest. These items are accessible via your New Student Checklist in IC Connect. Your academic dean's office will use your responses to customize a fall schedule for you that includes courses in your major or potential area of interest and a mix of core and elective courses to ensure that every class you complete this fall will count toward your degree.
New transfer students who earned college credits after their high school graduation do not need to complete the survey; your fall schedules will be created on the basis of your college transcripts. You will work directly with your dean's offices over the summer to build your Fall course schedule.
All new students have received emails from their respective dean's offices with more information about this process. If at any time you have questions about your fall course schedule or wish to make changes, you can work with your dean's office (see contact info below).
Your final schedule will be available August 1. During orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor or your dean’s office to make limited adjustments, if needed.
