New Student Checklist

Please familiarize yourself with the details related to each of the items on this checklist. All of these items must be completed to ensure a successful transition to Ithaca College.

To take action on any of the items in the New Student Checklist, students should log in to their IC Connect Portal to review a personalized checklist.

New Student Checklist

This is an overview of the checklist. For a personalized checklist students should log into their IC Connect Portal.

1. Register for Orientation

Starting, December 6, 2020, new students can sign up for 2021 Spring Orientation through IC Connect (a web portal specially designed for new students joining the IC community). Within your IC Connect Portal, you can also register guests or family members, as well as share any accessibility needs with us. Individuals requesting accommodations at orientation should contact the Office of New Student and Transition Programs at nstp@ithaca.edu.

2. Activate Netpass

Starting, November 23rd, you will receive an email from registrar@ithaca.edu to your personal email provided on the Common Application containing your new Student ID number and Activation Pin.

Please follow the steps contained in this email to set up your Netpass username and password. Your Netpass will allow you access to most of Ithaca College's technical platforms.

If you have questions, contact the Registrar at registrar@ithaca.edu

3. Submit Health Certification Forms

Complete your online health certification forms and submit an official immunization record. Your health forms are due by December 15th, 2020.  Please visit the Hammond Health Center website, linked below, for further directions. You will need your Ithaca College Netpass for this step (see step 2). Health Center staff verify that all elements are in compliance, so if you are unsure if you have submitted all of your required forms, please email healthcertifications@ithaca.edu.

5. Submit your Ithaca College ID photo

Make sure to submit a photo for your Ithaca College ID through their online portal.  Check your Ithaca email for communication for any possible issues regarding your photo.

6. Take Placement Exams

Take any required placement exams (determined when you log in to your checklist in the IC Connect Portal). Placement exams should be completed before your advising appointment during Orientation, so that you can build your class schedule when you attend.

7. Confirm Transcripts

Use Degree Works, in HomerConnect, to view your transfer credit award. If credits are missing from an institution you attended, confirm that all transcripts have been sent to the Office of Admission.

If you have questions, contact the Admission Office at admission@ithaca.edu

8. Send your official AP or IB score report(s) to the Office of the Registrar.

Have the College Board send your AP SCORE REPORT to the Office of the Registrar. If you have this, please share as early as you can.
