So you're coming to Ithaca College — fantastic!
The start of your student's college experience is an extremely exciting time, but it can also be a little confusing. Luckily, there are some wonderful folks prepared to help you both get settled in.
Student engagement in life at the college is essential to academic success and personal fulfillment. The First-Year Experience (FYE) program promotes active community membership inside and outside the classroom and helps students develop a better understanding of their academic and social environments through shared learning experience and the pursuit of self-directed achievement.
Through a series of events and other programs, FYE offers guidance for new students and their families during the transition to life at Ithaca. Staff provide support for first-year and transfer students at orientation and throughout the first year at the college to help ensure the best possible Ithaca experience.
2017 Orientation Presentation: "Families Matter"
During this summer's orientation sessions, representatives from the Offices of Alumni Relations and Family Giving hosted a session to help introduce parents to the IC experience. They shared tips on what students do — and don't — want as they make the transition to college, and information on the many resources available to Ithaca College students.
