Hi! My name is Lesley Paredes Hernandez and I am a Junior at Ithaca College. I am double majoring in Politics and Documentary Studies and Production. Political and social issues are areas I am extremely passionate about. I stand up for what I believe is right and always speak honestly. Being the daughter of immigrant parents has driven me to stand with marginalized communities. As a Hispanic woman, I am no stranger to bias and ignorance from others who might come from a different background than me. It is something I have never let get in the way because at the end of the day I know who I am and what I am capable of.
I am also on the competitive Model United Nations team for our college, where I have met people from all over the globe, some with similar and others with different views on the world than I may have. The debate is always respectful and professional. While I am firm on my views, I am open-minded and am always open to respectful dialogue.
It is the same attitude I bring when I come to work into our office. My goal is to open discussion among my peers and others, in regards to their different views on spirituality and religion. I aim to make all dialogue welcoming and respectful in order to encourage everyone to speak their minds and hearts. I consider myself to be very easy to get along with. I love meeting and working with different people.
