Collaboration

We are committed to engaging with all religious, spiritual, and non-religious worldviews to promote peace and understanding. See how our office is engaging with the IC community in order to spread awareness about different faith traditions and collaborate across spiritual and secular identities for the advancement of justice.

Photojournalist John Noltner spent a week with the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at IC and helped us document our community's story and response to the question: "What is your responsibility to create community?" This project was a part of a larger multimedia installation that uses photography and storytelling to engage diverse communities in the big questions of life.  Portraits were revealed at Noltner's public lecture, "The Road to Peace," which lifts up ordinary people's wisdom about hope, transformation, and forgiveness.

This year John led a similar project for IC via online virtual studio sessions with a group of 50 students and staff. During each session he asked participants to reflecting on a new question: “What does community or belonging look like for you during this time of pandemics and protests?

The world that I want to co-create is one of liberation through empathy.
