2019-2020 Winner - Ryan Buchanan (East Tower)

Hall of Fame Award

Coming into this year as a new RD I did not know what to expect from my SRA Ryan. I honestly has not had the most positive experience with SRAs in the past so I felt indifferent about having one, this was of course until I got to work with Ryan. Ryan has been an incredible leader for the department and for my team. He has been working for the department for his third year now, two years in the RA role and one as an SRA. Ryan creates a great sense of pride for being an RA on our staff. He leads by example and holds others accountable. Ryan is fun-loving and caring, while being structured and responsible. Ryan did not plan on becoming a SRA for his final year working for the department, but as his supervisor I could not imagine it any other way. He has exceeded expectations. Not only does he still work really creatively with his residents, but he also is a fearless leader. Ryan is reliable, responsible, and engaged in both the college as a whole and Residential Life. I admire Ryan’s respect for all individuals he encounters. He has managed to do an incredible job while working campus positions, being involved, being a graduating senior, and oh yeah...applying for law school. Ryan’s growth does not stop, although a senior and an SRA he is always open to learning more and taking in new perspectives. The sign of a great leader and future advocate for others through law. Ryan has really stepped up this year and deserves to be honored not only for his work this year but his dedication to our department as a whole

2019-2020 Winner - Sierra Baker (BRT)

Hall of Fame Award

Sierra Baker is an excellent SRA. She always went out of her way to give a helping hand, offer support and mentor RAs. Sierra is also an amazing RA who cares about their residents. They go above and beyond expectations when it comes to programming, residents 1:1's and team building. Sierra did many amazing programs that were out of box thinking. Sierra has true gift for relating to others through creativity. She did many creative and engaging programs this year not only through the RA position but through RHA. She did a very successful Geo-cashing event for all of campus. Sierra are tirelessly dedicated their time and energy into the RA role. Sierra takes it upon herself to provide exceptional support and service to residents and RA staff. She discerns quickly to their individual needs and moves efficiently to provide key information, recommendations, or direction. Beyond this and during times of transition, she has been a super star. She has had to work through many challenges in past year. Sierra is shown true dedication to the RA and SRA role. Time and energy, she has placed into Residence Life is admirable. Sierra has put her all into the SRA role but also Residence Life. She has served both upper year and 1st year populations and through both has always kept students at the heart of what they do. It is without hesitation I strongly recommend Sierra Baker for the Hall of Fame award.
