Exemptions for Extenuating Circumstances

Ithaca College residence halls will remain closed for the Fall 2020 semester. We will have very limited exceptions for students dealing with significant housing or personal hardships.

Complete the Fall 2020 Campus Housing Exception Form

If you need  on-campus housing for the fall semester, you must request to be allowed on campus by completing the housing exception form.

The priority deadline is Tuesday, August 25, 2020. These requests will be reviewed and responded to by Friday, August 28, 2020 so you can prepare to arrive in early September if your request is granted.

Important Details

  • Fall on campus housing, if granted, will be in buildings at the discretion of Residential Life
  • Students approved for an exception and had fall assignments in the Circle or Garden Apartments will be able to live in their assignments. All other students granted exceptions will be housed in the apartments or another location   assigned by Residential Life.
  • Dining options will be available starting Friday, September 4, 2020 and continuing daily through the semester.  All fall housing residents who are not living in an apartment will be required to have the fall meal plan.
  • Students granted permission to stay on campus will be charged room and board for the semester.

Housing Not Guaranteed

Please note that requests for on-campus housing for the fall are not guaranteed.

Requests will be reviewed by a team consisting of representatives from Student Affairs and Campus Life, Academic Affairs, and Student Accessibility Services.

After the priority date of August 25 has passed, requests will be reviewed and responded to on a weekly basis.
