December Reception for Graduates

Each year Ithaca College holds a reception for students graduating in December, which provides an opportunity for graduates, families, friends, and College representatives to celebrate the graduates’ success.

During the reception, a short program will include a welcome by Ithaca College president Thomas R. Rochon, remarks by the senior class president, and an address from a faculty member chosen by the graduates.

The reception is a stand-up reception with a limited number of seats available for anyone attending who is handicapped or elderly.

Invitations for the December reception will be mailed to graduates and their parents in mid-November.

The graduates will receive their diplomas in late February or early March.

As of this time, the December reception for graduates scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, will proceed as scheduled. Family members and guests who are unable to travel to Ithaca to attend in person due to the weather can watch the event live online.

Any decision to cancel the event will be made by 8 a.m. on Sunday, December 15. Please be aware that cancellation is highly unlikely, and the event cannot be rescheduled.
