Family Weekend Events

Things to do:

Take a walk through the newly renovated Hill Center.  Great opportunities to do so include the International Opportunities presentation at 11:00 am and the HSHP Open House from 11:15 am - 12:30 pm

Family members, guests, or students with Ithaca College ID may pick up registration materials and event tickets for their families, including tickets to today's football game.

Ithaca and Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau

Staff members of the tourism promotion agency for Ithaca and Tompkins County are prepared to answer your tourism related questions.  From restaurants suggestions to overnight accommodations to waterfalls, they have the answers for you.  Visit their booth to get your free "Ithaca is Gorges" bumper sticker and the answers to all of your questions.

Throw on some Ithaca College gear and have a family photo taken with a beautiful background. Pictures developed on the spot.

Anyone who attended college in the ‘70s and ‘80s remembers those ancient relics: the card catalog, The Readers Guide to Periodical Literature, and microfilm.  Today, students access journal articles, books, and historic news online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week from their residence halls and mobile devices.  This session will highlight selected online resources, including full-text e-books and databases.  We’ll also demonstrate Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, YouTube videos, social bookmarking, and online course guides.

Documentary Screening: Sole Survivor
Park Auditorium
Co-producer Alexis Jaworski will introduce and screen her film, Sole Survivor.  This documentary tells the complex story of four people who became sole survivors of commercial airline disasters.  There will be a Q&A session following the screening.  Alexis Jaworski is the sister of Erik Jaworski, a junior Documentary Studies and Production major.

Hear from a panel of young alumni as they discuss their budding careers and how the things they participated in at Ithaca College helped them along their way.  You'll also learn how parents and students can get involved in the IC Mentoring Network from Gretchen VanValen M.M. '90, associate director for alumni relations and Carrie Brown, Executive Director of Alumni Relations.
