Executive Board and Internship Applications Spring 2018-2019

Dear Student Leaders,

Thank you for your interest in applying for leadership positions at IC Hillel.

As you know there are two main categories you can apply for:

- Executive Board (volunteer)

- Peer Network Engagement Internship (paid internship)

Below, find descriptions of all positions, both Board and PNEI. Please note, that you can apply for more than just one Board or PNEI position, but you will need to submit separate applications for that.

If you are not certain what role to apply for (Intern or Board Member) - feel free to get in touch with any Hillel staff or current student board member or intern.

Applications are due by May 11th at 5 pm.

STUDENT EXECUTIVE BOARD

PRESIDENT

  • Responsible for managing Student Executive Board and running meetings
  • Serves on the Board of Directors of IC Hillel as a Student Representative
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the Student Leadership, IC Hillel Professionals, and other Jewish Student Organizations
  • Preferred qualifications: either has previously served on boards (youth groups, nonprofit organizations, etc.) or was a president of an organization, or club before.
    1. Not a first year student

FINANCE CHAIR

  • Works with Jewish Student Leadership to evaluate and fund programming and initiatives that promote the mission and values of IC Hillel
  • Assists IC Hillel in obtaining SGC and other outside funding
  • Serves on the Board of Directors of IC Hillel as a Student Representative
  • Preferred qualifications: attentive to details, interested in business and finance

RELIGIOUS LIFE AND EDUCATION CHAIR

  • Works with IC Hillel Professionals to plan events for Holidays and additional Rel-Ed programming
  • Works with intern team to insure weekly Shabbat programming

COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR

  • Chairs the Public Relations Committee to provide print and social media marketing for Hillel initiatives
  • Works with Student Executive Board, Jewish Student Groups, and Hillel professionals to develop effective marketing strategies, to advertise and promote events and manages social networks
  • Takes minutes at IC Hillel Student Executive Board Meetings

ALL IC Hillel Student Executive Board Members are responsible for:

  • Attending weekly Student Executive Board meetings
  • Attending and actively participating in Shabbat, Holiday and major Hillel programming
  • Chairing, managing, and meeting regularly with respective committees

PAID INTERSNHIP POSITIONS: PEER NETWORK ENGAGEMENT INTERNS

All PNEI interns are responsible to:

  • Build relationships with 45 Jewish students not actively involved in Jewish life
  • Plan 6 initiatives over the year that will help promote Jewish life in campus
  • Recruit for and/or attending Taglit-Birthright Israel, Alternative Breaks, and any Hillel major events
