First-Year Experience and Orientation

Ithaca College recognizes the importance of strengthening the student connection to the College during the first year and to laying the foundation for success throughout the four years of students’ progress towards their degree. The First-Year Experience department in OSEMA coordinates a variety of programs that assist new and transfer students in making a successful transition to Ithaca College throughout their first year including:

Our goals are to:

  • provide and collaborate on programs that foster a sense of belonging among students and engage students in their community
  • provide resources and support for family members of new students

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations for all events sponsored out of FYE should contact our office at We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
