TCAT Inc. is pleased to announce the extension of the night service to Ithaca College. The last bus is now scheduled to depart Green Street at 1:47 a.m. The new late bus will address the large number of people that require transportation at 1:30 am.
The later service will be offered Monday to Saturday on route 12 and starts on Monday, August 20, 2007.
This addition to the late night service to Ithaca College is a direct result of TCAT's ongoing willingness to help the City of Ithaca and Ithaca College with their transportation needs.
The request came directly from the South Hill Civic Association and Ithaca College students.
Joe Turcotte, TCAT General Manager, said, "We are delighted to be able to accommodate this request. Not only will it help the students get back home safely, but it will also help the South Hill community.
TCAT, Inc. (Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit, Inc.) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides public transportation for Tompkins County and portions of Tioga County. The fleet of 48 buses currently includes 3 hybrid-electric diesel buses with another 3 scheduled for delivery late summer 2007.
