Aaron Witek

Trumpet, Elective Instructor

Dr. Aaron Witek is Assistant Professor of Trumpet with the Ithaca College School of Music. He is active as a performer and educator, while also maintaining a demanding performance schedule as an orchestral musician, chamber musician, and recitalist. He has performed and given master classes throughout the United States, China, and Australia. Witek is sought out as an adjudicator and has judged at the International Trumpet Guild Conference (ITG) and National Trumpet Competition. He has been published in the ITG Journal and with Mountain Peak Music and WR Enterprises.

Students who study with Witek have seen various successes, including the receipt of International Trumpet Guild Scholarships, becoming a division finalist in the Music Teachers National Association Competition, and semifinalists at the National Trumpet Competition. Witek was recognized and presented with two awards from the University of Louisiana Monroe: the Foundation Award of Excellence in Teaching, and the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences Dean's Award of Excellence.

Witek earned his Doctor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Florida State University where he also completed his Master of Music degree in Performance. In addition, he received his Bachelor of Music in Education degree at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. His principal teachers have included Christopher Moore, Bryan Goff, John Ellis, and Alex Jokopi.
