Violinist Christopher Jones is Concertmaster of Boheme Opera New Jersey and the Newtown Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, he performs regularly throughout central New Jersey with such ensembles as the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey, Bravura Philharmonic, Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, Symphony in C, and the Ocean City Pops. As a soloist, he has performed the Mendelsohn and Mozart No. 4 Violin Concertos with the Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College and received his Master of Music Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan. He is a past member of the Ann Arbor and Flint Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Binghamton Philharmonic.

Mr. Jones has spent summers at the National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, Kent/Blossom Music Festival, Garth Newel Music Festival, and Brevard Music Center.  His primary teachers include Aaron Berofsky, Susan Waterbury, and Jonathan Beiler.

A passionate music educator, Mr. Jones currently serves as a middle school orchestra
director in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District. Under Mr. Jones’ direction, his ensembles have consistently received “superior” ratings at the “Trills and Thrills” and “Music In the Parks” festivals, and have been invited to perform at such venues as the NJMEA Orchestra Festival, University of Delaware, and in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. He conducted the 2019 CJMEA Region II String Orchestra.

Mr. Jones also maintains an active private teaching studio in East Windsor, NJ. His students have been accepted to CJMEA region and NJ All-State ensembles.
