One Week Courses At A Glance
Sport Media and Marketing
Interested in pursuing a career in sports media? In this workshop students get hands-on experience writing their own material while learning about a professional career in sports media. Students work in a computer lab, shoot video in a television studio, and also visit a professional sport organization to observe media members in action.
Throughout the week, this workshop will cover:
- Sport media relations
- Sport public relations
- Sport radio broadcasting (Park studio)
- Sport television broadcasting day (Park TV studio)
- Sport writing for print/web publications
A hands-on learning experience with a local minor league
baseball team or Watkins Glen International
This workshop will be taught by Kyle Woody, Instructor, Department of Sport Management and Media. Kyle teaches a number of courses at Ithaca College, including:

- Sport Publications
- Sport Video Production
- Narratives in Sport Documentaries
- Evolution of Sport Media
- Social Media and You

Prior to coming to Ithaca College, Kyle Woody served as a content director for STACK Media where his responsibilities included writing for the company's national print/web publication; directing video shoots with collegiate and professional athletes; and co-authoring three books on sport training and nutrition. Additionally, he has written for USA Junior Hockey Magazine, College Sports Business News and Eastbay. He also worked as an assistant media relations director for a minor league hockey team (USHL).
