My name is Sammie Watts, I use she/her/hers pronouns, and I'm a second-year graduate student in the speech-language pathology master's program with the teaching certificate path concentration. I also completed my undergraduate at IC in the speech-language pathology and audiology major with a minor in education studies.
During my undergrad, I co-directed, choreographed for, and performed in the IC Show Choir on campus for 7 semesters. I have less extracurricular time during my graduate program, but I am actively training in Seido Karate and am currently at my advanced yellow belt (5th kyu level). I also work within IC Tutoring Services and as a Teaching Assistant/ Graduate Assistant within my academic department. In the free time that I do have, I love to paint, sing, read, and work in my garden!
My current favorite quote is: “Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength - carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” (Corrie Ten Boom)
