- Kilmainham Gaol – A visit to Kilmainham Gaol will take you on a journey through Irish history. You will discover the stories of people held here as ordinary criminals alongside those who fought for Irish independence.
- Trinity College is in Dublin city centre and its ancient grounds are beautiful to walk around, either by yourself or on a guided tour. The library there holds the Book of Kells for those interested in getting a close-up of the 1,200-year-old manuscript!
- The Phoenix Park is one of the largest walled city parks in Europe. The park is home to Dublin zoo, a visitor centre & small medieval castle, a number of cafes, lots of free-roaming deer... Oh, and also the President of Ireland and the US Ambassador's official residence!
- Just outside of Dublin, you can visit a pre-historic World Heritage Site called Newgrange.
