My mission is to use my writing and journalism to tell the stories of the world that need to be told and to deliver them to those who need to hear it — specifically, the stories of those struggling to adjust to living in America — while explaining the importance of immigration and showcasing the beauty of diversity. My goal is to publish stories that other people can learn from and feel inspired by. I want to use journalism to shine a light on stories that might go unnoticed and give people the credit and spotlight they deserve.
Through my work, I hope that I can encourage others to tell their own stories someday and give them the resources they need to find their voice. I plan on working in the Village at Ithaca as well as writing for The Ithacan and Buzzsaw magazine to further my knowledge of journalism and hone my skills of working with others. In high school I gained experience working as the news anchor for my school’s news channel, and I hope to continue to work in the news industry to ensure the important and meaningful stories are being shared.
