Emma Brown

I am a first year Documentary Studies and Production major. I am currently a member of the club tennis team and Women in Communications (WIC). I plan to be part of “Nightmares… Alive” on ICTV and the New York Film and Television Student Alliance. This semester I am working with the Ithaca ReUse center as a group service project and assisting with their video production. I am excited to work with other people who are deeply involved with their community and care about sustainability. For my individual service project next semester, I am hoping to carry over a project that I started in high school to IC and the Ithaca community. I would like to start a hygiene and personal care item closet, both on campus and in the community, as I feel facilitating these needs is overlooked, especially in schools and on college campuses. Along with this, I will advocate for the importance of personal hygiene and health needs being met for those who lack the supplies they need. I am immensely passionate about health equity and accessibility, especially for youth. My mission for these next four years is to use my passion for film to share stories, through documentary, of those who are underrepresented in the mainstream media. I hope to inspire people to love deeply and care genuinely about each other, without overshadowing the voices that need to be heard.
